“The March numbers do show a real increase in jobs, with San Diego doing better than the other counties in Southern California,” said Kelly Cunningham, economist with National University’s Institute for Policy Research. “But at the same time, we’re having more people moving off the sidelines and back into the job market, since they’re perceiving that there are more employment opportunities out there. I think we are beginning to hit bottom, but we’re not creating jobs fast enough to hire the people entering the market.”
