Not all jobs are necessarily seeing wage increases. One of the largest problems in the current labor market is the mismatch of job requirements and applicant skills. More than 5 million job openings go unfilled. This is a structural problem that will not be solved until job seekers are retrained or obtain needed education and skills. While many skilled-position wages are rising, most jobs are still not seeing significant gains and wages overall remain relatively stagnant.
